As Accounting Corporate Director at Horse Powertrain Limited, you’ll step into a high-impact leadership role where your expertise will drive global financial integrity and strategic decision-making. It’s a unique opportunity to lead cross-border teams, define global policies, and influence the financial direction of a cutting-edge manufacturing business. This role is based at our London Paddington office, and you’ll report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
About your role
As the Accounting Corporate Director at Horse Powertrain Limited, you will play a central role in leading and overseeing all accounting activities across our global operations. You will ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting in line with international standards and serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team. This is a highly strategic role that involves defining global accounting policies, managing statutory reporting across multiple jurisdictions, and driving improvements in systems and processes. You will lead a globally distributed team and play a key role in supporting our finance function in a dynamic, multinational manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Global Accounting Operations across all regions to ensure consistency and alignment with corporate financial principles and standards.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with IFRS/US GAAP and local regulations, delivering timely consolidated statements.
- Develop and implement global accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls that align with business strategy and compliance requirements.
- Manage external audits across all jurisdictions, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and timely resolution of findings.
- Support financial functions including tax, treasury, and FP&A by delivering accurate and timely financial data.
- Oversee statutory reporting obligations across all countries of operation, ensuring adherence to local laws and deadlines.
- Monitor changes in accounting regulations and lead the implementation of necessary updates globally.
- Drive system and process improvements include ERP optimization and automation of financial workflows.
- Lead and develop a high-performing global accounting team, fostering collaboration, growth, and operational excellence.
- Act as a key advisor to the CFO and executive leadership, contributing to strategic decisions and long-term financial planning.
Skills and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CA, or equivalent certification required.
- 10–15 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a global manufacturing or automotive company.
- Deep knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP, with proven experience in multinational consolidation and intercompany accounting.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across cultures and functions.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or equivalent.
- Highly analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
